Mekong House is a 1962 shophouse on Fa Ngum Road that the Phommachanh family restored with Vientiane craftspeople over three years. It has twelve rooms, a courtyard around an old frangipani tree and a rooftop terrace that faces the river and the lights of Nong Khai. The night market is a four-minute walk and Wat Si Saket is ten.
Original brick walls, terrazzo floors and a queen bed. Faces the quiet lane behind the hotel, so it is the darkest and quietest room in the house.
A larger room over the frangipani courtyard with king or twin beds and a screen door onto a shaded courtyard balcony.
